Shift by Aragon with Luke Ramsay

Outdoor space defines Shift by Aragon. This 6-storey, 43 unit building will have an array of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom condos to choose from. The Little Mountain neighbourhood, where Shift is located, is equipped with something for everyone, combining the best of the Main Street Corridor while bordering amazing Queen Elizabeth Park. Episode Summary

Tell us a little about the project

SHIFT is a 6-storey project right beside the Little Mountain Community at 35th and Quebec in Vancouver. This is an amazing community with Queen Elizabeth Park, Riley Park, Nat Bailey Stadium, a community center, racquet club, and it is located steps to Main St with all the great restaurants and shops.

The project is a reflection of Aragon the developer. The units are not pre-sold. The building is currently under development and will be completed. The units will begin selling soon, which will be a small number of months from completion. This allows purchasers to touch and feel the unit that they will be buying and not base their decisions based on artist renderings or floor plans. Purchasers will be able to move in soon after they buy.

The building is called SHIFT because the balconies shift up the building and are not stacked on top of each other. It gives the facade of floating balconies which makes for a unique looking building. The building also offers amazing 12 ft to16 ft bifold doors in each unit that link the indoor space to each patio making the patio an extension of the indoor space. This has made for an incredible project.

SHIFT is a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. The sizes are in the affordable range – up to 850 sq ft. They are designed in a linear fashion and all look towards the bifold doors. Units include walk-in or walk through closets, on-suite baths with his and her sinks, heated floors in the bathrooms and hardwood floors throughout. The building is 6 storeys with 43 units in total.

Can you tell us about Aragon?

Aragon was started 30 years ago in Vancouver. The Company has always tried to push the envelope in regard to smart design and features. They were one of the first developers to use10 ft high ceilings in their developments to make condo units feel more like single family homes. The idea is for each condo unit to have one amazing room with over-height ceilings and bi-fold doors to the balcony that creates a livable space that the family will spend most of their time in.

Do you have estimated sales and completion dates?

Sales are expected to start end of May or early June 2019. People can move in sometime in the Summer 2019. The Company completes the development at the same time they are selling the project. This is unique and different from your standard pre-sale development. Aragon is targeting end users and not investors for this project. They are always thinking about the end user and trying to incorporate features that people want by using superior construction standards with a focus on quality and innovation.

On the demographics of owners?

This project will attract owners that appreciate smart design and are interested in amazing outdoors amenities. We are offering a quality condo home at a price point that will be affordable for young families. This will also attract people that want unique design but do not want all the maintenance of a single-family home.

If someone is on the fence, why should they buy at SHIFT?

You have to come see it for yourself. This is not a presale project – it is almost finished. You can touch and feel the home you want to purchase. When you see the home, you will be amazed. Every unit will have the amazing bi-fold doors leading to the patio that have to be seen.

There will be new grocery and services coming soon to an already amazing neighbourhood with the Little Mountain development as well. Aragon is very excited about the area and owners will be too!
